Event practicalities

Name the day’s target. Write for most of the session.

At a scheduled Saturday session, 30–40 members arrive with their own projects, introduce themselves at the table, and say what they plan to finish. Most of the session is silent writing time; the group reconnects at the end to share progress and swap details.

Start with a specific promise.

A chapter, an outline, a newsletter, a revision, or a page count is enough. Saying the goal at the table makes it easier to open the file and begin.

There is no lecture hiding in the schedule.

Most of the session is silent work. People draft novels, essays, screenplays, poems, newsletters, and pieces that do not yet have a name.

Inside the room

Four writers work in a row at a long wooden table beside a window

Close by naming what moved.

This is not a class or critique group. Bring the novel, essay, screenplay, newsletter, outline, or revision already on your desk. The club supplies a room full of people who have also come to work.

At the end, members share progress, exchange details if they want to stay in touch, and note the next place to begin before closing the laptop.
