Careers at ATX Writing Club

ATX Writing Club is an in-person writing community built around a simple idea: writers finish more when they have somewhere to show up and people who notice when they do.

We run weekly writing rooms, book clubs, feedback groups, author conversations, workshops, and salon dinners across Austin. The work behind those rooms is practical, human, and attentive. That is the kind of work you would be part of.

What it’s like here

We are a small, founder-led team building the writing community we wanted to find. Most weeks move between event planning, member conversations, venue details, and the quiet work of making every room feel considered.

Roles are based in Austin and include in-person event work. Schedules vary by position, with some evening and Saturday hours.

We work with care, communicate directly, and take the writing seriously without making a performance out of it.

We hire for judgment, warmth and follow-through.

What we are looking for

We look for curious, reliable people who enjoy making other people’s work easier. You should be comfortable solving practical problems, welcoming a room, and working without unnecessary ceremony.

We welcome applicants from every background and are committed to a fair, thoughtful process. If you need a different format, more time, or another accommodation at any stage, tell us and we will make it work.
